Veteran TV host and comedian Joey de Leon just keeps those one-liners coming.
During the recent press conference for the launch of his latest show on TV5 titled “Pinoy Samurai,” Joey had the press in stitches when he answered a question about the new rival show of the noontime show he co-hosts, “Eat Bulaga.”
"Meron ba?" he quipped.
After the laughter died down, Joey added: “"Hindi na namin pinapansin ang mga katapat dahil alam namin na forever may makakatapat ka talaga sa TV. 'Tsaka hindi naman iba sa amin 'yon, kaibigan din namin 'yon. Galing din sa amin 'yong iba dun."
One of the persons he refers to is Toni Gonzaga, who is a main host of “Bulaga” rival, “Happy Yippee Yehey.” Recall that Gonzaga hosted “Eat Bulaga” in 2002 prior to her transfer to ABS-CBN.
Joey said that they have lost count of the shows that have been fielded unsuccessfully against “Eat Bulaga.”
“Sa tagal ba naman namin, pang-ilan na ba sila [‘Happy Yipee Yehey’]? 25 0 26? Okay lang."
