Manny Pacquiao rocks a Rolex watch worth 5.8 million pesos

PEP:

Saranggani Congressman Manny Pacquiao looked dapper in an open suit paired with a checkered shirt on Friday, August 24.

The world boxing champ wore the laidback style in hosting an episode of his GMA-7 variety game show Manny Many Prizes.

But what caught our eye was the expensive watch on his left wrist. It was gold, and was studded with diamonds— from its face and all over the wristband.

It's a Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II automatic watch in brilliant karat.

This particular timepiece has an 18-karat gold case, face, and bracelet that are studded with over 300 diamonds.

Its bezel—the round edge surrounding the glass—is also made of 18-karat gold and is encrusted with 36 cubic zirconia diamonds and 12 black sapphires.

The cost: 5.8 million pesos.

The GMT-Master II design, which also comes in less swankier stainless steel, is very popular amongst the world's hottest celebrities.

Online resource Oysterinfo.com has spotted the likes of Hollywood actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gerard Depardieu, and musicians Eric Clapton and Phil Collins sporting their GMT-Masters in various occasions.

Another website, Coolspotters.com, has also seen the watch model on Keanu Reeves in the movie Street Kings (2008), Kevin Costner in Revenge (1990), Jason Bateman in The Switch (2010), and Shane West in the currently airing U.S. TV series Nikita.

In 2009, Manny was spotted by luxury watch website Haute Time wearing another gold Rolex watch known as the President, which—at that time— had a standard retail price of US$40,000 or about 1.8 million pesos.

With watches like these in Manny’s collection, it's no wonder he landed the 15th spot in this year’s list of highest paid celebrities published by Forbes Magazine.
